Field Visit in Vendenheim (Eurométropole de Strasbourg)

Two years after a first visit in Vendenheim, Anna Serra-Llobet, Ludovic Drapier and Anne Schoepfer went back in Vendenheim to see the restoration works.

Back in July 2021, several members of the team visited a number of river restoration sites in the Strasbourg Eurométropole. They visited the Vendenheim site, where the river was to be restored to create a flood expansion zone to protect the downstream village.

Two years later, Anna Serra-Llobet, Ludovic Drapier and Anne Schoepfer, an intern in the research program, returned to the site. Accompanied by Rémy Gentner, project manager for the Eurométropole de Strasbourg, they were able to discover the restored site. R. Gentner explained the work carried out, the difficulties encountered and the expected results. This provided an opportunity to exchange views directly in the field.
