Field Visit - Angers

Field Visit in Angers

On September 25, 2023, Joana Guerrin, Carine Heitz and Ludovic Drapier, accompanied by Marie Fournier, discovered the study sites located in Angers.

As part of the dialogue between the case studies, Joana Guerrin, head of the research program, Carine Heitz and Ludovic Drapier, in charge of the Strasbourg case study, visited the sites monitored by Marie Fournier in Angers.
The first site visited was Parc Saint-Serge, part of the "Coeur de Maine" development project. This recent park allows rainwater to be infiltrated thanks to a system of depressions dug in various places, and also offers a framework conducive to the development of biodiversity with the planting of trees and shrubs.

Then, the research team headed for Parc Balzac. This large park (55ha) is a biodiversity reservoir close to Angers city center, and is also a flood expansion zone thanks to its hydrological connection with the Maine river.

Discussions during the day identified areas for comparison between the program's various case studies, notably around the issues of land ownership, governance and the perception of these nature-based solutions.
